Georgia commission book "B", 1754-1827.

ArchivalResource

Georgia commission book "B", 1754-1827.

The collection consists of a typewritten transcript from the original records of "Index to Book Commission 'B' 1754 to 1806 [i.e. 1827]" and "Commissions. Book 'B' from 1754 to 1806 [i.e. 1827]". The index comes first and refers to the leaf numbers of the original manuscript records; the commissions follow, the copy corresponding to 255 leaves of the manuscript with the original leaf numbers noted. The transcript (40, 162 pp.) was evidently made from the original "Commission Book B" in the office of the Secretary of State, Atlanta (as of 1929). The commissions are not always copied in full, Gwinnett's and some others being somewhat abridged. With the DeRenne bookplate.
